Leroy's Bridge, Gaffney SC
In the late 60's the town of Gaffney SC experienced four murders in what was dubbed the Gaffney strangler. At this bridge one of the victims, a 20 year old female by the name of Nancy Carol Parris was found nude, raped and strangled. Her husband was originally charged with the murder and later released after being found innocent. Police then had a breakthrough lead of a mill worker in his 30's named Lee Roy Martin. Local residents around Cowpens battlefield spotted Martin in a wooded area and police found a body of a female, Martin was arrested and led police to the three other victims.
